The majority of UFT members working today will retire with a ‘Tier 6’ pension. Most of us know that Tier 6 is objectively worse than the pensions of members who started working for the City before us. But, New Action / UFT has run the numbers and it’s much worse than we realized. In this free webinar on February 1 at 5:30 PM, we lay out in detail the millions of dollars that Tier 6 members stand to lose financially because of our ‘join date.’ And while our current union leadership talks of minor ‘tweaks,’ we lay out some ways we might work together to truly get the pension fixed.
